Sports shoot

Assignment: 09/01/2007

Shutter speed: 500 (high)

We can tell that the shutter speed is high because there is no blur in the picture. The water and the moving dog are really clear.

I shot at a cheerleading meeting in the Akins gym and at the gymnastics practice at Star Center. Mostly I tried to shoot action shots when the athletes are performing.
The most important tip I should have followed a little better is that you always have to remember your shutter speed!!
For example, to take a shot during a play would need a fast shutter speed to prevent blurring, when the action is slower you do not need a so fast shutter speed. It also depends on the light what shutter speed you can use and it can definitely happen that you can’t shoot without a flash in gyms, because they are to dark for the needed shutter speed. (That was my problem in “Star Center”)
